Having completed matric in Nelspruit, Calvin first worked in a pet shop, a CD store, as a driver for an insurance broking company and as a waiter before joining Global Latitude as a photographer’s assistant.
Calvin’s natural artistic talent and keen interest in design led him to find his calling as a creative professional. He has rapidly grown in skill and is now an accomplished, fully fledged web and graphic design professional.
Working as a creative team, Alistair and Calvin have developed an impressive portfolio of company corporate identities and professional website solutions for a variety of business and corporate clients.
Calvin’s experience gained in the retail pet industry still comes in handy with the maintenance of the office tropical fish tank.
Having originally studied and gained experience as a PR practitioner, Heather later moved into the beauty industry. She gained extensive experience first on international cruise liners and later at the world-renowned Sun City resort. Heather quickly advanced from that of therapist to manager before taking the leap of starting a salon business of her own.
Heather brings balance to the force by assisting with key administrative projects and tasks that if given to a creative would lead to total anarchy. She is also in training as a website content developer.
Film Production & Video Intern
While at school in Richmond, Andile took drama and developed a dream that he would one day be able to produce his own films. However, since Andile did not have the resources to attend film school and had no opportunities to work in the industry, he took employment at a local bed factory.
In his own time and with no funding, Andile produced is first film “Money makes the world go around”. Andile took multiple roles in the development of this film, including producer, director, script-writer, actor, cameraman and editor. He did all this with no training and no budget.
When we heard Andile’s story, we immediately recognised a passionate and creative “entrepreneurial spirit”. We have responded by making a position available for Andile to grow further with his passion and will be training him in traditional photography, more about videography, editing on the Apple platform with Final Cut X and, of course, stock video production.
