Global Latitude has won an order for the major upgrade of Swift Heat & Control websites to bring them into line with a new ISP PHP version – which is similarly being rolled out on servers around the world.
Latest versions of Linux operating systems used on most web servers offer increased stability and security – but many do not support earlier versions of the server-side scripting language PHP.
“Since the most popular, stable and reliable CMS systems are based on PHP – it’s imperative that all such websites be brought up-to-date with the latest versions of the language,” says Global Latitude Managing Director, Alistair Cotton.
Once complete, the Swift Heat sites will run on the latest WordPress CMS version with an up-to-date customised variant of the associated commercial theme. “We are also upgrading all plugins to their latest versions and making site changes to increase security,” says Cotton.
