Survey claims email is 40 times more effective than social media

I’ve just checked my email inbox to find an html email message from with a lead article commenting on a McKinsey & Company survey which reveals that email is still way more effective for marketers than social media.

Apparently email is “a far more effective way to acquire customers than all that tweeting and posting and “liking” you’re doing on social media–nearly 40 times more than Facebook and Twitter combined”.

Another interesting statistic revealed by the survey is that nearly 45% of all marketing e-mails or electronic newsletters today are opened on a mobile device.
